Macaroni Kid Smoky Mountains
Our Titanic Adventure
May 9th, 2013
We had the pleasure of visiting the Titanic Museum 2 weeks ago, and boy was it fantastic! I really cannot say enough about this world class attraction.
At first, I was a bit skeptical, thinking the huge replica ship that we were about to enter was going to be just another "tourist trap" kind of attraction, but I was pleasantly surprised.
From the moment you arrive in the parking lot (parking is free by the way-and they have Blink electric vehicle charging stations!) you have a sense of connection with the history of the Titanic. The ship is HUGE, you cannot miss it on the Parkway. The Titanic staff is there to welcome you on your journey, before you even enter the building. Dressed in costumes representing what the Titanic crew would have looked like.

Discover the Titanic like never before…
April 17th, 2013
Last week we drove through Tennessee, and stopped by The Titanic Museum in Pigeon Forge. This is not a cheesy touristy destination, but a classy, interesting, educational, incredibly well done museum that appeals to all ages! The outside of the Titanic Museum was built to replicate the huge ship; it was made to a 50% scale of the original HMS Titanic, and is still gigantic! They have a large, free parking lot, with plenty of room for big rigs (we went during the off season).
At the entrance to the museum, we were met by ‘the captain’, and another staffer, dressed in Titanic replica costumes. They gave each of us our ‘boarding passes’; the boarding passes were colorful half-sheets that told us the name of a real passenger (kids got kid passengers, adults got adults), the age of that person, where they were from, and what class accommodations they were. Since we have lots of kids, we got a lot of boarding passes!

The Titanic Museum, Pigeon Forge, TN…

When driving through Pigeon Forge, you cannot miss it – this huge replica of the ship, built half-size, commands attention as it appears ready to plow through the parkway. Parking is free, and convenient.

A MUST See: The Titanic Museum in Pigeon Forge, TN @My_PigeonForge
April 9th, 2013
This spring break, my family and I had the opportunity to visit the Titanic Museum Attraction in Pigeon Forge, TN. The museum isn't hard to find--it really stands out. After all, how can you miss an enormous 30,000 square foot ship-like building as you enter the Parkway in Pigeon Forge? As I mentioned, the exhibit itself looks like the Titanic boat in the middle of a parking lot (although this recreation is only half the size of the authentic Titanic). As we entered the exhibit, courteous staff dressed in uniform handed us boarding passes. These boarding passes included the name and brief background information for an actual passenger of the Titanic. Adults were given adult passengers and children were given children passengers. The boarding card encouraged visitors to find out more about their passenger throughout the exhibit. The children's boarding passes had scratch off trivia questions. Children were also given a souvenir button with their name on it.

Spring Break Road Trip: We Discovered The Children of Titanic
April 5th, 2013
While traveling through Tennessee on our Spring Break Road Trip, we took a side trip to Pigeon Forge. We had one and only one goal in going to Pigeon Forge and that was to visit the Titanic Children’s Exhibit. Since we had never been to Pigeon Forge before we had no idea where to find the Titanic Exhibit. Unlike other buildings that sat back from the road and looked like many other beautiful buildings in the area, there was no doubt that we had arrived when this beautiful boat stood out before us in true Titanic fashion. Miss JoJo and I live near Branson and have visited the Titanic Exhibit Branson before so we really didn’t expect to see anything new or to be there for very long. We were seriously mistaken!

Hands On History At The Titanic Museum In Pigeon Forge - Our Review And A Giveaway
March 28th, 2013
The Titanic Museum in Pigeon Forge was absolutely fabulous. The museum is very easy to find and is right on the Parkway strip. Don't worry you WON'T miss it...it is pretty impossible to miss a 22,000 square foot ship!!! Parking is FREE and the experience starts right away from the moment you step out of your car. Flying from the light poles are flags representing the many countries that the Titanic passengers were from. And there is beautiful Irish music playing. My kids started dancing right there in the parking lot.

A Titanic Surprise in Pigeon Forge
March 20th, 2013
First I would like to thank the US Family Guide for selecting my family to be able to visit the Titanic Museum Attraction in Pigeon Forge, TN. We had heard many great things about it and were curious to see what it was all about. I will be the first to tell you, it isn’t what you think. This isn’t just another Pigeon Forge tourist attraction. You can learn a lot here and will want to go back for more!
There is nothing cheesy about this attraction. Be prepared to be amazed and learn more than you ever though possible about the ship, her passengers and crew. I was taken aback by the stories of the children on the ship. We visited during the The First and Only World Tribute to Titanic’s Littlest Heroes gallery showing. There were times that I had to fight back tears, just thinking of the fate that these little loves met.

Spring Break Travel: Titanic Museum Attraction
March 1st, 2013
You know I love the Smoky Mountains! I think I have blogged about the East Tennessee area at least a dozen times. In 2012 I was fortunate enough to travel to Pigeon Forge two separate times and visit one of Pigeon Forge’s newer attractions: Titanic Museum Attraction. One thing I love about the area is that there are so many reasons to return to the Smoky Mountain region for years to come. I personally I visited the area 10 times & I have yet to grow tired of the area. Titanic Museum & Attraction is a perfect example of why travelers always return: Reinvention! Spring break is almost here so for all the holiday travelers Titanic Museum & Attraction has geared up for several months ful of new events and a new gallery for 2013.

Titanic Museum in Pigeon Forge
February 8th, 2013
January 27th was a special day for my family. We got to visit the very special Titanic Museum in Pigeon Forge. When I first told my two daughters what we was doing that day, they were really confused on what a museum was. They have never been to a place like this before so I had to explain to them that this was a place where we got to learn about history, a sinking ship and all the people who were aboard it.
So around 1:30 pm, we loaded up into the car and head toward Pigeon Forge. It is about a 40 minute drive. The whole drive, I thought about that dreadful night that occurred in April 1912. It was cold that night, around 32 degrees and the water was only 28 degrees! BRRR! Now it was chilly that day, but nothing like those people had to endure!

The Titanic Museum in Pigeon Forge
January 27, 2013
On this cold Saturday morning, everything in Northeast Tennessee was covered with a beautiful sheen of ice following our recent winter storm. What a perfect day to remember those souls who were aboard the Titanic just over 100 years ago.
As we drove down to Pigeon Forge, I was reminded of how cold it was on the Atlantic on that fateful night in April 1912. The air was around 32 degrees and the water a frigid 28 degrees!

Titanic Museum in Pigeon Forge, TN Review
January 8th, 2013
Getting to share the Titanic Museum experience with my son, was a blast. I knew he would enjoy it, but was impressed with just how much he got into it.
When we arrived, two gentlemen were waiting outside to welcome us aboard and give us our boarding passes. Cody loved this right from the get-go. You see, the boarding pass was in the name of one of the original people to have departed Southampton, England, on April 10, 1912. The pass had the name, whether you were a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd class passenger, your age, residence, and some information about you.

Best Educational but FUN Exhibit in Pigeon Forge
January 7th, 2013
You can't miss this HUGE exhibit it is the worlds largest museum attraction! This 30,000 square-foot, ship-shaped structure overlooks the Gateway to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. It holds 20 galleries with hundreds of artifacts on two decks.
You begin to live the experience as soon as you are about to "board" the ship. The captain briefs you and you are given "boarding passes" that have names of people who actually were on the ship. Its a fun adventure in itself to figure out who your boarding pass belonged to and your story on the ship. You are also given small recorders that coordinate with certain areas of the ship that tell the story, you have an option of an adult and a kid-friendly version.

Titanic Family Adventure
January 6th, 2013
It's a story that our family has had the privilege to experience several times over the last year and half. We went for our first time in June 2011 and fell in love with the Titanic and her story. Read all about it here! Mattie, my history buff would move in I believe, because she learns something new every time she goes. We visited again in April 2012 for the 100 year Tribute to the Titanic. What a celebration of life and a memorial to those aboard.
We visited on Thanksgiving. The Titanic was beautifully decorated for Christmas, but there was a special treat that night, fireworks and snow. The fireworks were beautiful and the snow was wonderful.

My family recently had the chance to tour the Titanic Museum Attraction, which is all decorated for Christmas! It’s beautiful! Plus, for the next three Saturdays (December 15, 22, and 29) at 7 p.m. your children will be able to see real snow off the bow of the ship and the arrival via horse-drawn carriage of Father Christmas (which is what the British passengers on the Titanic would have called Santa). It makes for a beautiful photo opportunity!

A Titanic Surprise in Pigeon Forge
October 24th, 2012
I’ve been saving this article for last, not because I want to keep it to myself, but because of many things I experienced in Pigeon Forge, TN on my recent trip to Brandcation, The Titanic Museum Attraction was the most surprising.
To be honest, I’m not sure that this enormous boat in the middle of the Smokies would have been something that I would have done with my family had we been on vacation there. I typically enjoy thrilling, humorous exhibits when I’m on vacation, and I thought I knew all there was to know about the Titanic. What I didn’t know, were the stories of the people on board, and that’s what this attraction begs to offer.

Titanic Museum in Pigeon Forge
October 19th, 2012
Our family visited the Titanic Museum Attraction in Pigeon Forge recently during our trip to the Smoky Mountains. I have always been fascinated with the Titanic and so has my husband. My younger children really weren’t aware of the history, but my 17 year-old daughter had seen the movie several times so she was really looking forward to it. We were really excited when we realized that 2012 marks the 100th anniversary of the RMS Titanic.

My First Visit to the Titanic Museum Pigeon Forge TN
October 18th, 2012
As a child, I always loved reading those stories about the brother and sister who traveled through time to fix things and solve mysteries. That is until I read the one that they went on the Titanic. They had to figure out what they needed to fix before the ship sank and they died. At the end of the book I think they both realized that they couldn’t save anyone, they had barely been able to save themselves. It so sad to me as a child because I knew that everyone they talked to, everyone who helped them even though they were strange kids from the future, they all died. Or most of them did at least. Of course those books were fiction but that doesn’t change the tragedy of the real story of the Titanic. That is why it was so amazing that I could get to visit the Titanic Museum Pigeon Forge TN.

100 Year Anniversary of the Titanic - My Visit and Review
October 15th, 2012
2012 is the 100 year anniversary of the sinking of the RMS Titanic. I've long been fascinated by this historical tragedy and saw the movie so many times that I know most of the dialogue. When I had the opportunity to visit the Titanic Pigeon Forge recently while vacationing in there I was thrilled.
Upon approaching the Titanic Pigeon Forge from the street you are struck by the sheer size of the museum which is built only to half-scale of the original ship but it's still massive and impressive. Upon approaching the entrance to the museum we were greeted by a staff member, all of which are dressed in period costume, who looked eerily like the captain of the original Titanic.

A Titanic Event
September 24th, 2012
After a short two-hour drive, the museum finally came into view...it was quite a site! We were greeted at the entrance by maids and ship mates all in costume and character. As we entered, each of us got a boarding pass of an actual passenger on the Titanic. I was a 2nd class passenger with a really sad life; her first two husbands and her child had died...she did survive the Titanic's sinking though, so I guess that was good for her. Sophie was a 1st class dress designer from London. She was the inventor of the runway fashion show and she's the woman that made lingerie sexy...betcha didn't know she was on the Titanic!

Featured Review: The Titanic Museum in Pigeon Forge, TN
July 24th, 2012
From the parking lot you are over whelmed by the sheer size of the Museum. Not unlike the Titanic in its day! A monstrous ship with attached ice berg cleverly join what appears to be a boarding station. A cleanly uniformed maid will hand you your very own character card. She then sweetly directs you to your place in line. History of the R.M.S. Titanic begins to swirl around you.

A Titanic Experience
June 20th, 2012
You know about our camping trip. But did you know that it all started with the Titanic? My 6-year-old son is a Titanic fanatic. He first got interested in the Titanic about a year ago, after we picked up a book about the famous wreck at a local garage sale. He poured over that book, passionately, so we went to the library and checked out more books. And videos. Today, my son has darn close to 10 books on the Titanic, and he can tell you almost anything about the ship and its discovery.

Touring the Titanic
June 18th, 2012
We really enjoyed our time inside the museum-there was so much to look at and learn-I wasn’t expecting the enormity of it. We found ourselves inside for a few hours, trying to soak as much in as possible. Our entire time there was very interesting, but also very sad. We were surrounded by items and memories of an amazing loss of life. The most staggering moment was to be “outside” and feel the water that those poor people either struggled to survive in, or perished. It really made the whole tragedy more real.

Gumbo Effect
All Aboard for a Historic Adventure
July 27thth, 2011
It’s been almost 100 years since the ill fated Titanic set sail from Southampton, England on its journey to New York City. During those years much has been learned about not only the ship, but the intricate stories of the lives of those passengers aboard. For me, I can say that I knew bits and pieces of only some stories. Embarrassingly enough the majority of my knowledge came from the James Cameron version of events in the movie “Titanic” or the information I found in the novel “A Night to Remember” by Walter Lord. When I made the suggestion to my family to visit the Titanic museum during our vacation last week to Pigeon Forge, they weren’t too sure it would be a good place to bring my nephew, age 8, or my niece, age 5. After a bit of discussion we decided to take a chance and pay this museum a visit.

Gatlinburg, Tennessee Titanic Museum with Audio Tour ***REVIEW!!
June 26th, 2011
Pigeon Forge is home to the Titanic Museum- which by the way is inside a ship that looks like the Titanic! It is a must see attraction for all ages- perfect for families or couples!! As many of you know, The Titanic will be celebrating it's 100th year anniversary in April 2012. Hard to believe it's been that long since those 2,208 passengers experienced one of maritime's biggest disasters

ALL ABOARD FOR THE TITANIC
June 15th, 2011
On Saturday my family was given complimentary tickets to enjoy the Titanic Pigeon Forge museum. I was under no obligation to post a positive review of our experience and all the thoughts and comments are my honest opinion. It’s hard to believe the Titanic is coming up on its 100 year anniversary. It’s a humbling reminder of how each generation believes they are “unstoppable, unsinkable, and completely under control.”

The Titanic Museum, Pigeon Forge—new audio tour
June 13th, 2011
Our family was recently invited to The Titanic Museum in Pigeon Forge to try out their new audio tour. When we visited around Christmas, we were so impressed with the museum and the effort they put into making it an enjoyable experience for all ages. Well, I think they’ve outdone themselves with the addition of the audio tour! When we visited in mid-November, our daughter loved the exhibit. She was so pleased when I told her we were returning, and she has already planned our next trip there with a friend!

A New Way to Tour the Titanic Museum
June 11th, 2011
"Look mom, there's my number, there's my number!!" That phrase in a very excited voice was what I got to hear over and over again this weekend while my family and I were at the Titanic Museum in Pigeon Forge. My family which included my husband and three children ages 3, 6, and 13 had the privilege of taking a tour of the museum in November of last year and were recently invited back for a second tour that we went on today. We loved our first trip to the Titanic Museum and were just in awe of how much attention to detail was given to every single aspect. Our kids could not stop talking about it after our first visit so they were thrilled at the idea of visiting it again. This time, however, was quite a bit different. This time we got to experience the new Audio Tour of the museum and I have to say we all LOVED it. Really loved it!

You Wanna Know What I Think?
Review: TITANIC - World's Largest Museum Attraction
May 3rd, 2011
The last time I was in Pigeon Forge was almost 4 years ago and this wasn't there at the time, so I definitely wanted to visit and have the TITANIC experience. As a kid, I was obsessed with Leonardo DiCaprio and my friend Nikki and I watched the Titanic movie over and over again. Even though it was 3 hours long!

The Titanic Museum in Pigeon Forge – a really cool place to take your family
April 15th, 2011
The Titanic Museum in Pigeon Forge just announced that they’re offering new audio tours; they have one for adults and one specifically for kids ages 5 & up. If you haven’t been, this could be a really fun part of your summer staycation. My girls are constantly asking to go back to the “Titanic boat.” I wrote about our last trip for my previous blog, and I’m copying that post below for those of you who would like to read it.

Three Generations visit the Titanic Museum in Pigeon Forge, TN
February 24th, 2011
I am always looking for fun things to do with my girls. Something that keeps them talking. The Titanic Museum in Pigeon Forge has been on my radar for some time. You see, in my 32 years, I have seen numerous attractions not all of them so fantastic or believable. I fancy myself an Attractions Connoisseur. I had heard so many amazing reviews from friends and visitors that I just had to check the Titanic out.

KnoxMoms - Carrie - We Went to the Titanic Museum
November 22nd, 2010
Last week Hubby and I packed up our 2, ages 4 and 6 and our niece, 3 and took them to the Titanic Museum for the unveiling of their Christmas Snow! I am going to be honest, I am a history buff and love the story that surrounds the Titanic, I loved the movie, I love watching documentaries about it, I think its a tragic time in recent history and I can't help but get sucked in emotionally to it.

Traveling with Kids: Titanic Museum in Pigeon Forge, TN
November 17th, 2010
We made sure to put the Titanic Museum at the top of our to-do list while on vacation. The Titanic Museum in Pigeon Forge, TN is quite the attraction to visit! Designed to be a 1/2 scale model of the real ship, we were excited to see the inside after one glance! The building itself is designed to look like the inside of a ship. You walk through corridors, suites and other exhibits while really feeling like you are at sea (minus the crazy swaying of an actual ship).

New Deal Daily - Titanic Pigeon Forge "Christmas in a Winter Wonderland"
November 15th, 2010
On Friday night, my family and I were invited to the Titanic Museum in Pigeon Forge, TN for a special Mom Blogger event to celebrate the Titanic's Christmas in a Winter Wonderland kickoff. This visit was even more magical than the first! I took along my husband, 5 year old son Jackson, and my mom for the trip. When we arrived at Titanic Pigeon Forge we were allowed in the museum for a 1.5 hour private, self-guided tour. The highlights were of course the grand staircase, being able to touch a real iceberg and plunge our hands into the icy, 28 degree water that the passengers would have experienced that night. Jackson loved the kids area in the museum where he could steer the ships wheel and interact with a computerized polar bear.

KnoxMoms - Titanic Museum in Pigeon Forge
November 13th, 2010
On Friday evening, November 12, 2010 we were privileged to be the guest of Erin Wicker at the Titanic Museum in Pigeon Forge. The complimentary VIP pass was in honor of the kickoff of the Winter Wonderland experience at the attraction. Due to the special event, we gathered outside in the parking lot for the Winter Wonderland Kickoff. We were greeted in song by the Walters State singers. We got to see snow coming off the bow of the ship and some magnificent fireworks after the lighting of the Christmas Tree. A parade of camels also graced us with their regal presence.

Mom Central Travels
June 2nd, 2010
One museum I've always wanted to go to is the Titanic Museum in Branson. This Missouri attraction has been around for several years now, but just seems so out of the way, so I never even considered visiting. Titanic Pigeon Forge just opened, however, and Tennessee is only an 8-hour road trip away. A much more reasonable distance, if you ask me! Maybe we can keep going and visit Graceland as well. I've always wanted to go there, too!

From My Front Porch In The Mountains
May 24th, 2010
Wow! Those were the only words J and I could utter upon our arrival at Titanic Museum Attraction in Pigeon Forge, Tn. It is beyond enormous. Titanic Museum Attraction is a half-scale, permanent, three-deck recreation of the Titanic. It is absolutely incredible. I felt as if I were back in time. I wish I had dressed for the occasion! Something truly vintage!
